Eliminating Vagina Odor

As soon as you notice strong or unpleasant vagina odor, the first thing on your mind is how to get rid of it.  Luckily, it’s relatively easy to improve the smell of your vagina by getting rid of things that could cause a bad vaginal odor in the first place.

Could it be an infection?
If you notice that you have a smelly vagina, you should first consider if it’s an infection causing the problem.  An infection is caused by an imbalance of good and bad bacteria in the vagina, and needs to be treated as soon as possible to prevent complications.  A fishy smell is a good indicator that you have an infection.  In this case you should directly consult a doctor. There are natural remedies use a combination of natural minerals and botanicals to neutralize unhealthy bacteria.  By helping your body shed the old cells lining the vaginal wall, it also cleans the area and improves vagina odor.

Other causes
General irritation is another cause of vagina odor.  When your vagina is irritated, it will produce bad-smelling discharge as an attempt to clean itself and get the irritant out.  Many items can cause this reaction, especially those you might not suspect.  A hygiene product containing scents or dyes could be the culprit.  This includes toilet paper, tampons, pads, and pantyliners.  If you condoms or lube with flavors and additives, this could irritate your vagina as well.  Douching, which is supposed to cleanse your body and reduce vagina odor, can actually be an irritant as well.  Use Secret Ceres as an alternative, because unlike douches, it contains no harsh chemicals and won’t unbalance vaginal pH levels.

Prevention
Preventing the odor from returning is even easier than eliminating it.  Wash daily with a gentle, additive-free soap.  This will help with any smell coming from the area around the vagina.  For your vagina to stay fresh, it needs to breathe.  Poor air circulation only makes your vagina odor worse.  If you wear a lot of constricting underwear, especially if they’re made out of synthetic materials, you’ll need to switch to cotton panties for at least a few days out of the week.  Air flows through cotton much easier than fabrics like vinyl and spandex.

With the right treatment and prevention methods, you’ll no longer have to deal with the embarrassing problem of an unpleasant smelling vagina.
