Quick Home Remedies For Acne Redness

Even after removing the acne, the red marks will stay on the face for some time due to the infection and curing process. This is also referred to as post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. If a person is infected worse with acne, then it can lead to red acne scar. Often people confuse acne redness with acne rosacea, which occurs mostly in adults.
Based on various factors, red acne exists, including the severity of the acne and how speedily one recovers, but mainly it exists between 4 and 12 weeks. Even after the acne redness disappears, it leaves dark brown spots, especially on dark skin.

There are various treatments for acne redness, but one should try first natural remedies that are available at home. If nothing works, then visit a doctor. One should choose only one remedy at a time and try it at least for a week, rather than choosing several remedies at once.

Cheap home remedies

Garlic: After peeling the garlic, cut it and apply it over the face where acne redness is present one time each day. Washing the face with garlic makes the face smell if not done properly. In that case, clean the face with juice of lemon. This is one of the quicker ways to heal acne redness.

Water and juice of lemon: Take equal quantities of lemon juice and water, apply it on to the face for half an hour every day, and then lightly wash it off with cold water.
One can also apply visine red eyes with a cotton swab as it contains tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride. This ingredient contracts the blood vessels.

Toothpaste: Applying toothpaste to the affected area for one or two hours lessens the acne redness. If one is having sensitive skin, then toothpaste causes irritation. Before applying it for long hours, one should check for shorter time period.

Temporary relief

If one wants to make the acne redness less noticeable for few minutes in order to take pictures or video, then simply press on the red marks with an ice pack for approximately ten minutes. This will lessen the swelling and redness temporarily.
